Superbowl Madness

Right now my house is a flutter with the beginning preparations of the annual Superbowl party! Of course, this year has a little bit of a somber feel to it, as we are definitely a Vikings house... but we will lick our wounds and cheer on those Saints, as much as it does sting!

Ive had a pretty quiet week scrap wise... everything I have done, I cant share for another week or so LOL .. But there are some things I did awhile back that Im super excited to finally post!

I am so excited to not only work with Connie, but to start this new adventure! Happy Monday! I'm a few days late on bringing you some gorgeousness with last weeks goodies! My husband and I decided to take our three toddlers to the Monster Jam over the weekend! It was so nice to get away and spend some time as a family! But boy do I ever feel behind now! LOL

Heather Roselli released and awesome awesome kit on Saturday at the Sweet Shoppe! It was the perfect kit to scrap a page of my daughters first Valentines Day! Here's my layout using Love Me Do

Scrap Orchard was a Buzzing this week! Amanda Heimann teamed up with Meg Mullens from Wild Dandelions to bring you Mama Mamarazzi! I decided to try to scrap off-theme and came up with a fun summer layout!

Also over at the Orchard, make sure you stop by and take a look at SuzyQ's amazing new kit, Love Monsters! I just love the little monsters! Perfect timing, because my daughter has recently taken up a Monster persona!!

DSA Scrap Off 2010 is winding down! We are currently in the final week ... and let me just say I am sooo proud of myself for sticking this through! I decided to sign up because I really struggle scrapping with Mini Kits - and I thought it would be a really great experience for me! I have learned a TON and its so amazing to see how every person has a different take on the same kit! For week 3, I decided I really wanted to scrap from the heart ... this layout came together really easy for me, but I have to admit I was a bit hesitant to post it online. Rarely do I ever journal about my own parental flaws ... here is my Week 3 submission:

Geez where has the time gone? I have LOTS that I have done since I last posted, but Ill just share this weeks new releases with you! Be sure to check out my gallery over at DSA for a full recap!

First off, I want to mention that I am guesting for Stolen Moments this month! I am having a blast working with all of Amber's gorgeous kits! I've decided to challenge myself in the DSA 2010 scrap off! I always find it hard to scrap with mini kits, so I thought this would be a great experience for me! Here is my submission for Week 2 of the contest!

Next up, SuzyQ has some AWESOME Big Picture templates in her store today! I love how the picture is just the main focus ... and I knew I had to scrap this pic of my little boy! I also used Amanda Heimann's new goodie, Momma's Boy! Be sure to check them both out in the Orchard today!

I have my first December layout featuring Plum yumminess! This month I get to work with The Design Girl! I used her kit called A Modern Little Christmas, along with stitching from Erica Zane, and alpha from Kasia Designs (click for full credits!)

For real, what better combination than a SuzyQ and Amanda Heimann collab?! These two designing goddesses teamed up this week to bring you an AMAZING winter kit! Go check out Snow Peeps at Scrap Orchard now!

SuzyQ also released a kit, Heavenly Peace, as well as an Add On pack this week too!

I decided to switch things up a bit and go hybrid! My original plans were to make a free standing nativity scene, but my 3 kiddos were having so much fun playing with all the characters while I was cutting them out, that I decided I'd make them into a fridge magnet play set instead!
Here they are in all their glory on my fridge! The kids LOVE them!

Seriously, go make a set for yourself! Its sooooooooooo easy! Just print them out on card stock, cut cut cut! Then I glued little magnets onto the back and laminated them for the inevitable wear and tear! The kids have been playing with these ever since! Its great!

Phew! Still with me?

Last but not least, I took advantage of my scrapping mood and grabbed Heather Roselli's Craft Desk to make this layout! Ive loved this kit since I first saw it, and I finally had the perfect pics to go with it!!

Once again, I let myself get behind on blogging! I really have no excuse, other than lately I just havent wanted to sit at my computer desk! Can you believe that? I think my poor hubby thinks there might be something wrong with his scrap addicted wife! I, who once spent hours sitting here starting at my screen, has lately preferred to be as far away from the pc as possible! Fortunately for you, that means I wont be spending an hour here writing this post to catch you up!

FOBTY - Favorite Season

I decided to participate in the SSD Challenge, FOBTY (from our blog to yours) this month! We are challenged to blog about our favorite season - which I think I can handle!
Up until this month, my favorite season was fall. I loved all the gorgeous fall colors, the crisp air, the crunch of the leaves and apple cider to keep me toasty! However, going from having my air conditioner on last week, to my heat blazing this week, I think I may have changed my mind! As I get older, I come to realize that the crisp fresh autumn air is not as soothing as it once was. In my younger days I would sit outside and enjoy the weather, and now you can find me huddled up in a sweatshirt, a few blankets (and possibly some long johns!) and a space heater happily by my side.... No joke. It's only the beginning of October here in Minnesota, and I have already resorted to having 3 blankets in my bed, much to my husbands dismay! So, while I sit here shivering, I think I will be changing my favorite season to the warm sunshiney Summer...........

I've been doing some government job training all week and it has me just exhausted! Not much time to back track on my blogging and try to catch up on what I've missed .. so instead I will just leave you with some Heather eye candy :) She has an amazing halloween kit hitting the Sweet Shoppe tomorrow!

I dont know about you, but I LOVE the colors of fall! Up here in the North Midwest, we are already seeing leaves fall and change color! Its just so gorgeous outside!

One of the perks of being on the Polka Dot Plum Store CT is that I get to work with a variety of amazing designers each month! This month, one of the designers I get to work with is the amazing Sunflower Designs! I literally have a crush on this girls designs! She released a new kit the other day called Maple Tree and its Perfect for all those fall and autumn pics! I scrapped a few pics of the boys last year playing in the leaves! Seriously this day was totally one of life's most memorable! I will never forget the sounds of their giggles as they rolled around in the piles!

Thanks to CWC Fair for taking this amazing picture of my daughter and publishing it! They had a little booth set up where all the kiddo's could get their funky fair face on, and she totally rocked it out! She love all the dress up clothes, and best off all, the pic turned our stunning!!

We are still waiting anxiously for Polka Dot Plum to open up shop! However, we do have a pretty definite date, but we are keeping it quiet for now! I literally cannot wait for the doors to open on this super awesome store! I have so much to share with you and you all are gonna be blown away by what the talented designers have in store for you! Hubby and I decided to take a little mini vacation over the past week! It felt great to rejuvenate and get some much needed family time .. its crazy how you can get so lost up in the hustle and bustle of every day routine...
I did scrap a bit before we left, and have again since our return .. I'm a bit behind on sharing :) So I'll leave this short + sweet while I give you some eye candy :)

I'm so excited this month! I was accepted to guest for Armina Designs! This girl blows me away.. I've been a long time fan so this is the icing on the cake for me! She has an amazing new kit out called Happy Days 1 ... if you know Armina, you know this is just fantastic! Here are a few layouts I did using the kit:

Next up - I played around with Kitty Designs new kit called Loveable.. I'm a serious sucker for the pink girly kits... and when its made by Kitty.. I'm completely won over!

Gosh I'm busy!! I'm participating in Survivor Scrap - over at GingerScraps... (you can click the blinkie to the left for more info).. Its set up similiar to the show Survivor: Each week we are faced with a challenge as well as an immunity challenge. We make alliances, and out crop, out scrap until the end... the goal, of course, is to be the ultimate Scrapping Survivor! For week 1, we were given a collab by Ginger Scraps called Another Day In Paradise. Our challenge was simple the first week .. make a layout... Turns out, everyone who completed the challenge earned a spot in week 2 of the contest! Here is my entry:

Week 2's Immunity Challenge was to scrap a layout feauturing the 10 things you need to survive. If you completed the immunity challenge within 24 hours, AND complete week 2's challenge, you are safe from vote off! I really want to win this thing .. so of course I did the immunity challenge! The only problem is I may have fibbed a bit .. lol... cuz I totally dont think I could survive without my computer!!

And my last one I have to show you!!!
While we were on vacation, we stopped by a butterfly exhibit... I've ALWAYS wanted to go to one of these, and it totally did not dissapoint! It was so amazing!

I have lots more I've been working on and I seriously cannot wait to show you!! The upcoming store I am Creating for opens in just a few more days!! Its gonna be AMAZING! Stay tuned!

On Saturday Sarah Morgan released a brand new collab with Gabby Palmer called BBQ & Bottle Rockets. Its so versatile and great for cookouts and all your patriotic pages! I decided to finally scrap the pics from the Ronald McDonald House Benefit ride my hubby and I went on! I also used Sarah's Clean Collages Templates as well, which you can also get at Inspiration Lane!

Outside my window…dark and night time (i think my husband would appreciate me to go to bed at a decent time tonight!)
I am thinking… that there just isnt enough time in the world for all the things I want to get done each day
I am thankful for… my family, my friends (both online and IRL) my job
From the kitchen… Kettle Corn (im seriously addicted and need help!)
I am wearing… shorts and a tank
I am reading… for once - nothing!!
I am hoping… that while my husband is laid off, we will get lots accomplished and we will survive!
I am creating… a layout for Polkadot Plum
I am praying…for financial stability, happiness and peace!
Around the house… clothes, toys, more toys, even more toys
One of my favorite things…laying on the floor with my kiddos and just enjoying quality time
A few plans for the rest of the week…work, head to the rodeo, laugh with my family, make a few layouts, maybe even get some organization done too!! :-O

1st Ever Speed Scrap!

Tonight I participated in my first ever speed scrap over at Scrap Matters! I was in such a frenzy! And honestly, these shouldnt be that difficult, but I showed up an hour late and had only 50 minutes to catch up, create and post! PHEW!
I was able to use Farrah's Lunch Time kit -- which was PERFECT for Miss J's raspberry pics!!

So remember those layouts I posted last week that I submitted for the Scrap Orchard CT Contest? Well .......... I am SOOO excited to announce that I have been selected to move on to Round 2 of the competition! This week was extremely challenging for me, but I kept on trucking through it and am pretty pleased with my submission!!

I do want to mention, that once I posted my layout to Scrap Orchard, and received many comments on it, I realized I forgot to turn my moon layer back on!!!! I was sooo devasted that I forgot! LOL. But it is what it is, and if a silly little moon costs me the competition .. .well then. I'll probably cry! But Ill be more careful next time LOL.
Honestly, the competition for this is FIERCE. I was shocked I was selected to move on to Round 2 .. there is so much talent going on over at the SO forums, I'm just so blessed to be among it all! Congrats to all the ladies moving on!! Go check out the competition yourself by clicking here!

I have beach fever .. its as simple as that. I NEEEEEEED to get to a beach asap - however the MN weather is just not cooperating! Sadly its been pretty chilly here yet ... hopefully we will be able to dig our toes into some sand soon!

In the meantime - Scrap Orchard is having a little creative team contest, and I've decided to play! I made a few layouts with the Beach Bum kit, and had to narrow it down to just one to submit! It was a very hard decision, and I even weighed in with a few fellow designing lovelies -- almost debated on putting up a blog poll! LOL

My First Farrah Layout!!

So the rest of my exciting news was that my lovely DH got me a brand spankin new PC! Oh is it ever lovely :) I get so excited at how fast this baby operates. .. I can design like a mad man now!! (er mad woman!) My old desktop was 9 yrs old and it was very ready to be retired!
It took me a few days to get all organized and situated, but I did! And I was able to crack out my first layout for Farrah using her Peaceful Journey Kit available here.

Fishing Fun

A few weeks ago, the kids had their end of the year party for their Early Preschool program. Its always a ton of fun - a huge final hurrah before we all separate for the summer. This year the theme was Fishing. The kids all got to go fishing for the first time in the freshly stocked trout pond! We didn't catch anything, but we sure had fun!

Baby Clothes Bring Happiness

I wanted to share something I saw today while at work, and figured this would be an appropriate place! (if you are looking for some scrapping goodies, I'm sorry to disappoint today)
In case you didn't know, I am employed by a well known snack company. I spend my days slinging crackers and cookies and drooling over all the oh-so-yummy but yet very fattening products! I basically store hop making sure our products are displayed correctly. As you can imagine, I have seen my fair share of 'horror scenes' at various stores. I have witnessed many parents lose their cool with their children - I have heard name calling like you wouldn't believe. But today I was able to witness something humbling that I wanted to share. .. Right across from the cracker aisle at Walmart is the baby section. Often times I find myself gazing over there to check out the newest latest frilly things for my Miss Jay. (and ok, I admit to even pining over the newborn stuff too) When I happened to glance up today, I seen an elderly couple - most likely in their late 70's early 80's - pawing over the cute summer outfits. They walked around the displays, pulling out a shirt here or a dress there to show one another -all the while their eyes are dancing - I dont think I will ever forget the expressions on their face or the sound of the man chuckling over a pink dress. It was the most darling thing I have ever witnessed while at work. Simply amazing how this man and woman could get such pure joy out of the tiniest itty bitty clothes.
